Here's a bit of an update. We didn't do much in November related to our wedding. However, we did go to our friends' (Clayton & Jessica) wedding, in Tennessee. It was beautiful and we had a great time dancing and singing karaoke. Definitely a lot of fun.
Oh, we did register at Bed Bath & Beyond while we were in North Carolina. We also picked out the rehearsal dinner menu for the Golden Eagle Country Club, but turns out that they were booked after all - they apparently didn't realize what date Caleb's grandmother said. She's been looking at other venues for the rehearsal dinner, lately she's been talking about the Governor's Club.
During Thanksgiving Break I gave each of the girls that I wanted to be bridesmaids a card - asking them to be a bridesmaid. My sister Kasey is going to be the maid of honor. Caleb started asking the guys to be groomsmen. Our friend Brett (he and Caleb have known each other since birth) will be Caleb's best man.
When Caleb came home for Christmas in December we had our Engagement Party which was a lot of fun. We were surprised at how many people showed up. During the holidays we also fit time in to have our engagement pictures done. You can see the photographer's post on their blog. I really like what Linda wrote about us & Olyn did an awesome job taking the photos.
Also, during Christmas week we had our first kid....just kidding! He's a little robot that we built together. We saw the kit at Hobbytown USA and bought it just to see if it would work. He's a little brush robot named Wilson. He travels on the floor and sweeps up dust and dirt...all for $15! We had fun with him.
Since the new year started we've gotten a bit more accomplished wedding-wise. Last week four of the girls found the bridesmaid dresses that they like. One is stuck between two dresses and I still have two more girls to go with. I apparently didn't get any pictures of my youngest sister in the dress she like, but my dad and step-mom did. All of the dresses will be in the David's Bridal color Marine (Navy Blue) - no, the dresses will not be all of the colors in the pictures. Caleb and Brett started talking about tuxes and seem to have that pretty well under control. He's got something up his sleeve for the ceremony that our friend, Clayton, helped him come up with. I have absolutely no idea what it is though.
Haley is stuck between the two dresses above. Which one do you think looks better?
I tried going to talk to Myra Jean about doing our wedding cake and groom's cake, but she had mis-read her calendar and turns out she's already booked on our day. Erin and I went to talk to a florist. I left my contact information and am waiting to schedule a consultation with her. I emailed Flowers by Vince and have to get back to him about an appointment time. Next week (Feb. 6th) I'm going with Erin to talk to a lady, named Rachel, about doing our cakes.
Caleb's mom and I went today to book the caterer. Her name is Bruette Davis. I used to work with her a couple of years ago helping her cater wedding, I worked as a server. She and her husband, Joe, will be doing the food for the reception. It will be delicious! I have a copy of the menu to take when I go see Caleb for Spring Break (early March) and we'll decide what we want served then.
I'm pretty sure that's got everything caught up for now. Whew! I've gotta stay on top of this thing.
